The Syriac course consists of educational modules. Each module contains numerous educational sections, homework assignments and a discussion forum. It also includes many interactive exercises to improve and test the learner's reading, writing and listening skills using a variety of methods.
All sections and interactive exercises include audio recordings that help learners learn the correct pronunciation of words and sentences. The audio files have been recorded by several people to match the reader's voice with the characters leading the dialogue.
The school uses the classical Syriac language (Kthobonoyo), translated into English and Arabic, it teaches reading and writing in the Western Syriac script (Serṭo) with the ability to display Syriac words in Esṭrangela script.
The learner learns to read, write and speak through a course based on the intermediate level, according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). This course is aimed at students who have already learned Syriac and who wish to deepen their knowledge of the grammar and nuances of the language. The learner should be able to form useful Syriac sentences and translate introductory texts at the end of this level using a dictionary.
The duration of the studying is approximately 95 hours, spread over 1 Year, with 2.5 hours of study per week. The learners learn and practice themselves. They organize their lessons and their time when and where they wish. The school is supervised by specialized supervisors who monitor the student’s development during the learning phase and answer their inquiries.
